Seventh grade science classes participated in the Journey North Tulip Study by planting 200 tulips. Students enjoyed the unseasonably warm fall weather and were able to dig, plant the tulips, water the tulip beds, and cover them with mulch. Since the Journey North Tulip Study utilized red tulips this also corresponded with Red Ribbon Week, a national week dedicated to the prevention of the usage of alcohol and drugs. The students were not only able to plant the tulips to participate in the study, but they were also able to plant the tulips to represent a dedication to not use alcohol and drugs.
