We planted our tulips on a Wednesday. The temperature was 17 degrees C, the ground was dry and compact and diging was difficult at first but improved as we dug deeper. We now, on November 4th, have 6 inches of snow on the ground and temperatures in the -2 degrees to 0 degrees C.
