Today 40 third graders ( two classes) teamed up with their kindergarten Book Buddies ( 40 kindergarteners) to plant 500 red emperor tulip bulbs. The Kindergarten children had linked 9 unifix cubes which measured 7 inches long to help in measuring the depth of the holes. The bulbs are planted in 3 gardens. One hundred of the bulbs are planted in our butterfly garden. The children planted blue pansies on top to make a beautiful garden while we wait for the tulips to emerge in the spring!
