Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/10/2003

Number: 1

My seventh grade life science classes captured , tagged and released 17 monarchs from the butterfly garden located outside our classroom today. There were only 5 females and 12 males. Usually it is almost equal male and females that we capture. The students discovered a preying mantid making a meal of a monarch.
