If I were to have to judge the size of the migration based just on my observations in Maverick County and those from other parts of the region, I would have to say that this year appears to be about the same size as last year. I observed only two brilliant days in which there were thousands moving through. It is also possible that this location has lost favor as a roost, but in driving around I only spotted a couple of other sites where monarchs were lingering in any concentrations early in the evenings.
