This is more of a "hearing" not a sighting...yesterday we had very wild weather, thunderstorms and confirmed tornadoes in our area. I live about 300 yards from the Brazos River here in Sugar Land Texas. At about 2am my wife and I were awakened by what sounded like high pitched squeals of children!!! At first I thought it was a dream, but then my wife nudged me and said "WHAT IS THAT???!!!" I got up and went to the back door and opened it....there were THOUSANDS of bats flying south along the river!!! It was amazing...so today I started reading about the bats here in Texas and learned a lot mostly that Texas is home to the largest and most diverse population of bats in the US (We just moved here from Massachusetts last year!) I was reading about the Mexican freetail bat species and their migratory habits and I suspect that is probably what I witnessed, them flying south for winter...in my Internet search for information about these creaturs I happened on your site, so thought I would re
