We had snow last week at the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News, enough to close area schools. We checked Thursday but no tulips. By the weekend of Jan 31/Feb 1, the snow began to melt. We checked Tuesday the 3rd and the first tulip leaves were up about 3/4 inches, and burned on the tips by frost. We estimate they've been up since Sunday! They were planted by Jane Callaway's preschool level Afterschool Naturalist classes. Spring is not far behind!
