Eight robins in flight north of Detroit (Birmingham, MI) after an ice storm. I also see robins in downtown Detroit regularly. All seem to be males (dark black heads). Interestingly, we rarely see robins on our annual Christmas count about 20 miles northeast of the city near Anchor Bay of Lake St. Clair in late December. So these are urban pioneers of the downtown shrubbery.
