We still have plenty of snow on the ground, but the chickadees have been very active the last 2 weeks, one pair of purple finches arrived on Feb.12, our pair of nuthatches arrived back here on Feb. 14, the pine siskins arrived on Feb. 16, and the common redpolls arrived Feb. 17.....all of these are about 4 weeks earlier than last year according to my records.....perhaps this means our rufous hummer will arrive early also???
