Our third graders spotted two chrysalides in the garden today. Both are fairly low to the ground and inbetween dead branches of a plant. It was interesting to see that they both chose such protected spots. Neither one went very high off the ground unlike past chrysalides. Could this be for protection from the still cool, windy weather? Four more caterpillars are eating the small amout of milkweed trying to grow.
