Saw my very first brave robin sitting on the trunk of the crabapple in front of our business. That's an area where the soil is mostly sand and is usually quiet a warm place as it faces southward. The robin was poised in a listening position, waiting for a worm to come up for air. We had about 3/4" of rain yesterday! And until the weekend, there were lots of big snowbanks melting slowly. Later in the evening, the robin was scolding from various parts of the yard, no real songs yet.
