Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

I saw a lone monarch actively flying west northwest Sunday, afternoon
February 29, 2004. It was flying low among the tree branches going over a
ridge covered with Spanish oaks. The weather was mild and sunny.

Note: Due to leap year, this February 29th observation is dated in our database as March 1. Our mapping software uses Julian dates so February 29th falls into the March 1- March 14 date classification and this sighting is displayed on the map as a "white" dot.
