Bald Eagle

Date: 03/03/2004

Number: 1

Although we have a large number of Bald Eagles that spend the winter in this area, at this time of year they are beginning to be more active, circling around roosting birds and calling (shrieking)frequently. We also notice that there is more interaction (usually agressive) between the eagles and the Ravens in the area. This all has to do with mating and nesting, but so far the details are a mystery to us. Later there will be many fewer Bald Eagles here as territories are established and birds without territory move on to other areas.
