Pathways Academy is the alternative education school for Flagler County. I am coordinating a service learning program for our school and the students and I have turned our campus into a butterfly habitat. In addition, we have created two butterfly gardens in the county. One for a public library and one for a nursing home. We are developing the educational material to educate the general public on butterfly gardening and the life cycle of butterlies. The goal is for the students to better understand the life cycle of the monarch in order to better educate the general public and in this process develop the necessary academic and behavior skills to return to their home school.
