After a record warm week last week, we checked if the tulips would bloom on Friday the 6th, but they did not. No buds noticed, but they must have been tucked inside the leaves. When we checked Monday the 8th, a cold front had come into the area the night before, and there was our first short-stalked bloom nestled among the leaves! It looked as if it were wearing a green coat with the collar turned up against the wind! It may have been thinking "Gosh! It WAS warm! What happened!?" ;-)
Many local daffodils responded to the warmth last week as well.
