Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/11/2004

Number: 1

First Monarch caterpillar on my Milkweed today. Must have missed him earlier this week because he is very large already. The first Monarch I saw on 2/23 was laying eggs on the Milkweed.
Spring is here in Central Florida.

Just a little correction/addition to the above report. I went out to take a picture of the Monarch caterpillar and found 8 small ones on the Milkweed in addition to the large one. Hope I have enough Milkweed to make them all happy!

3/19/04 Just wanted to update you. I have 25 Monarch caterpillar on my Milkweed
right now and think several of the 1st ones I saw have already gone to the
next stage. I may have to go buy some additional large Milkweed to support
them:)
I have lots of Milkweed seedlings started for later in the year.
