Today I checked our red and white "Spirit" garden and was surprised to see the red emperor tulips popping out of the ground already. They are just emerging while the daffodils nearby are up 1-4 inches.

I heard a Redwinged Blackbird for the first time today.

The geese have been actively flying by this week. I was amazed to see the sky full of Snow geese this morning on my way to school. There were thousands of them. (3/12/04)

I saw and heard grackles yesterday.
