Now is the season of mud! A damp cold accompanied by wind prowls the rather forlorn March landscape. As sunset approaches, I notice the only robins I've seen all day in front of our business. A group of seven, they're gathered below the crabapple tree. This sandy soiled area seems to attract them, the 40' x 60' block building, creates a microclimate of solar warming, that probably stirs the local worm colony into activity. Tonite, I notice some serious assertive posturing going on between them - playground bully style. One of the birds steps up, head high to another, feinting side to side. The action is returned, then both decide the ground is much more interesting!
