For most of the winter our tulip bulbs lay buried beneath several inches of snow. The snow finally melted and within two weeks of that time the tulips began emerging! Our weather has been fluctuating from 27 degrees to 70 degrees throughout the past 4 weeks, and today we are in the midst of a winter storm that is predicted to drop eight to ten inches of snow before it blows itself out. The current temperature is 33 degrees. We wonder how this storm will affect the growth of our tulips. Where is spring? As soon as the snow melts (we hope for the last time this year!) we will be outside collecting data on our emerging tulips. Seventh Grade Life Science, Harmon Middle School, Aurora, Ohio
