The first Red-winged Blackbirds showed up at my feeder on
St. Patrick,s Day, Wednesday, March 17. There were two. Unlike the finches which have been around for a week or so and come and go to the feeder, the Red-wings stay there and eat almost cobtinuously. Both the general bird feeders and the hummingbird feeders were put out March 10. No hummers yet but I expectthem any day. Glen Rose is 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
