I spent the last two days (March 18-19)in southmost Texas (Cameron and Hidalgo Counties).
I didn't see any monarchs nor had any of the butterfliers that I talked to.

They've had record South Texas rains this month. There was significant
amounts of standing water in low areas, primarily in counties a bit further
north from the Rio Grande.
