Bald Eagle

Date: 03/19/2004

Number: 1

Always right around the first day of spring we see our first Bald Eagles! Just like normal--our first Bald Eagle was spotted between the village of Holy Cross and Shageluk on the Innoko River. There are many nesting places in our region.

We're still not sure where they come from -- the Aleutians, perhaps but we're pretty sure they don't winter in Anchorage, Eagle River, Seattle or Haines. If anyone has any idea at all, please let us know! We've been curious for years!
