I now maintain 9 feeders and a backyard full of Hummingbird attracting plants. Though I have frequent visits throughout the season my normal resident visitor total is 1-2 birds. I have seen as many as three Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in the lawn at one time, but only seldomly do I get to see more than 1 Hummer on the feeders at a time.
>
>My backyard Hummingbird Habitat consists of 4 small Hummingbird Gardens with a 5th planned for the 2004 season. My plantings include: Trumpet Honeysuckle (Lonicera Sempervirens Magnifica), Lady in Red Salvia (Salvia coccinea), Koralle Fuchsia, Trumpet Creeper (Campsis x tagliabuana `Madame Galen`), Lucifer Crocosmia, assorted Gladiolas and Lilies, Beebalm (Monarda didyma), Russian Sage, Hostas, some Cannas, a Weigela and two O'neil Red Horsechesnut trees (Aesculus x carnea `O`Neill Red`).

>I usually start putting up a feeder in mid to late March depending on the weather and the rest of the 9 are up by mid -April. I take my feeders down in N
