All Other Signs of Spring

With our anticipated high only 35* today, the bird feeder is busy. Ka-ching, the blackbird is mowing down millet in tremendous gulps, his crop bulging. Mrs. Cardinal sang a lovely song while waiting in line. Chickadess, fox sparrows, zipped with chippy sparrows to tweak seeds away from the bigger birds. Mourning doves sat soaking up sun on the cement near the dog houses. The water tub that catches the spring water from our sump pump was shoulder to shoulder jostling with various birds.Robins stopped by to drink and practice muscle poses. A wonderful rascally magpie with an irridescent purple head and rolling white rimmed eye bumped Ka-ching from his chosen feeder. Lots of entertainment for a peeping dishwasher at a kitchen window. Male blue birds gave off bright blue flashes and songs
