Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 03/23/2004

Number: 1

I work on a Wildlife Preserve and we maintain 11 32oz hummingbird feeders every season (I actually have to refill them daily) and I just put one up Sunday night (night before last) and our first ruby red hummer arrived this morning. I've been doing this for 4 years now and often they are hovering outside my kitchen window before I can get the feeder out so this year I wanted it to be waiting for them after their long journey north. We also have a few tubular flowers blooming already (Salvia Greggori). I think hummingbirds are just little bits of magic and I love maintaining the feeders. Deb
