Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 03/27/2004

Number: 1

We put up our first feeder at noon today and saw the first Ruby Hummer at about 5:30 pm. I guess he was hiding out in the woods waiting for us. We see them here the first of April each year. They usually announce their preence by circling around the porch. We know they were here last year when we see them checking the hooks where we hang the feeders.

We have lived here 5 years and look forward every year to the return of the Hummingbirds. They usually stay with us until the first week in October.
