We had record high temperatures on 3/29 of 78 degrees in the Seattle area. Our tulips buds loved the heat and 3 opened that day with many others to follow. However, our tulips are YELLOW. We do not know if that compromises our data, but we ordered RED emperor tulips from the Netherland Bulb Co as directed. Our invoice says RED emperor tulips, and when I spoke to the company this am, they have not had any other complaints. The packages were labeled RED, but the tulips are definitely a beautiful YELLOW. They are replacing the tulips in the fall with the proper RED ones....We will be picking our tulips and delivering them with Happy Spring cards to a local housing area for the elderly.
