A pair of Purple finch,male and female have chosen a site for their nest. The roll up shade on my porch. They were trying to stuff nesting material inside the hole which is 1/4" wide. Then they wanted to perch it on the top of the shade under the protection of the porch. I have decided to evict them as this will not work. A Robin did this once and I allowed it with disasterous results. They were quite annoyed that I wanted to sit on my porch. There just wasn't enough space for the eggs.
Besides, the temperature here is 40 degrees with a possiblity of snow. We just had heavy rains and flooding. The temperature may stay below 40 for the next few days. That is my observation for today.
