Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/30/2004

Number: 1

I saw my first Monarchs of 2004 today in Wimberley.

1. Rapid transient moving approximately NE at 2:15 pm, 103 Overlook Circle
(Woodcreek), Wimberley, TX 78676

2. 2 sightings in Blue Hole campground on Cypress Creek, Wimberley. The best
sighting was searching for a route through juniper thickets at 3:40 pm,
moving rapidly NE when it found its way. It passed within 4 feet of me,
allowing me to make a positive identification.

I could not determine the condition of these individuals. They did not pause
to feed.

We have Mexican milkweed in flower, but they have no butterfly eggs.
