Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/17/2004

Number: 1

I have to admit that I have not been actively searching for larva, but yesterday I examined several tropical milkweed in two different gardens here in Austin. All plants covered with monarch larva in all stages from egg to 5th instar (upwards of 50 total). Several larva of various sizes were on the ground and on surounding non-milkweed plants.
