Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/19/2004

Number: 1

No monrach's sighted as yet.

I was outside all day Sunday, April 18, 2004, working in my butterfly garden and didn't see any Monarch's. Butterfly Weed (a.t.) is about 6 inches tall with many leaves. Only saw 1 butterfly of an unknown species.

On Friday, April 16, 2004, I walked past the UALR greenhouse which has set pots of asclepias currvasica out for monarchs. No butterflies spotted in the area. During the season there are usualy 2-3 in the vicinity during noon hours.

Will check the UALR greenhouse daily at lunch as it is nearby.

Also, several days of rain are predicted this week. We had some really bad severe weather, including light snow and small hail come through TX, OK, AR a week or so back. Could this have impacted the Monarchs?
