Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/17/2004

Number: 1

It was not a new, fresh butterfly, but rather old and faded. It appeared to be "traveling". The weather was warm and sunny, 65-75 that day. Light breezes. We have not seen any common milkweed yet, but because of our meadow mix, often don't find it until it is well established. Our four-leaf milkweed, A. quadrifolia, is up.
We haven't seen any monarchs since, but have had lots of rain and some strong winds/storms.
