Our two classes planted about sixty tulip bulbs last fall in the newly created courtyard at our new school. This winter there was a large amount of snow and ice that formed in the courtyard and damaged most of our bulbs.
While we were away on Spring vacation from April 9-18th,some tulips emerged. We have 10 plants that survived out of the sixty planted. 4 plants are about 3in. tall, the others range from around 5in. - 10 in. tall.
Large equipment is being brought in to fix the soil and drainage in the courtyard, so we have moved the ten bulbs into a differenct area of the courtyard where there will not be any digging done.
Next year we hope to have better luck.
