Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 04/23/2004

Number: 1

Our Ganandadoy's are back. The Robins are here. We started to hear them last week but realize that they are passing through on to other destinations. The first ones that we have been noticing carrying sticks and grasses are here now. There are, however, some other concerns that we have here in Alaska.

Elders in our community notice a frightening trend in the numbers of Canadian Geese and various duck species so far this spring. The numbers are very low! Elders say they have never seen the spring migration so meager.

As temps continue to be in the mid to upper 40's and even into the 50's people say we should be seeing many more birds.
