Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/19/2004

Number: 1

Saw a single Monarch Butterfly flying in high winds in the backyard of our home. It was an extremely hot day, 89 degrees. I couldn't believe I saw one this early in the season. The butterfly was definitely a Monarch.

Confirmed with these comments:
The butterfly was definitely a Monarch, not a
painted lady. I've been collecting butterflies since I was a small kid (now
42) and had a collection on display in the Hartford Museum. I was surprised
too at the early date.
