Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/27/2004

Number: 1

According to the stage of blooming plants in my area, the hummers are about a week late, but the weather here has been rather cool and very windy. Early on the 27th my husband saw one adult at our feeder - which has been up for a week. Later in the day I saw a very small bird with no coloring on throat. It seems to have been a young bird, rather than a female. If an adult female, it was the smallest one I have ever seen. I hope the weather settles and we have more very soon.
