Under plants, last winters temperatures were extreme enough that this spring all the English ivy that was taking over our woods has been killed. The waiting seeds under the mat have sprung up to replace the empty space.
Under birds, My house wren has returned for the third year. Both parents appear to be building the nest.May Day has arrived to be celebrated in most nations except here in the United States. It marks a Cross-Quarter Day in between the Vernal Equinox and the Summer Solstice.
