I know loons have been on our lake but today was my first sighting. I was quite excited to see it. We have many species
of migrating birds, ducks here in northern Indiana.

Large, long, brightly-billed, white-ringed neck, with feathers
in back of head like a heron - flipping out. Dull coat.
Loon often drank water. Loon dove completely under water and stayed under a few seconds.
