Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/12/2004

Number: 1

At 9:10am while looking for particular tree at a local greenhouse, a flash of orange caught my eye. Upon further investigation I found it was a brightly colored female monarch butterfly. She seemed to be testing various leaves, possibly attempting to lay eggs. The tempurature was about 65 degrees and sunny. The wind was about 15 mph, but the butterfly was in a sheltered area.
