I've seen a monarch flying twice, once along the road where there's a lot of wild plants, including a flowering crabapple, but no milkweed. The second time was in our yard, just meandering around a yew bush. Both days were sunny and warm. The milkweed is not flowering yet. We live quite near the ocean, if that has anything to do with it.
