it's actually eggs hatching in a tree right outside my window. this has happened other years but now i am totally into tracking the progress of these beautiful birds. we had a hugh rainfall last night and i worried about the mama and baby birds i am trying to find out as much info as possible and am glad i happened by this website. i've never really known much about the incubation period but now i'll be prepared for what's coming next. last year since the nest is right by my backyard deck, one of the babies was on my top step and took a long time before it had the nerve to fly away. other than that one sighting, i never even knew about the babies last year. this year i know they hatche3d on the l5th (my sons birthday) i will be looking out for this event every year from now on. it's very exciting to me.
