Today me and one of my 5th graders saw a male monarch flying around our butterfly garden. We were watching it fly around and suddenly a big (yet unidentified) yellow butterfly appeared from over the building. The monarch flew up to it and they appeared at one point to be fighting and "passed a single lick" whereas their bodies struck each other. They "hit" each other one time and the yellow butterfly flew up and away back over the building. The monarch continued to fly around
the garden. The temperature is about 84 degrees F and the time is 1:10. It's been in the garden since about 12:30 p.m.
