I checked several lush looking common milkweed plants for eggs today,
none found. The plants were anywhere from 8-18 inches tall, I'm
guessing. It would be early for my records to spy a monarch here yet.
Does anyone know the average arrival date up here? It is very cool and
has been VERY stormy with tornadoes and monsoon-like rain, particularly
south of the Twin CIties, at the Iowa/MN border and in a general swath
through the midwest this weekend. I would expect to see a monarch up
here in a week to 10 days, especially if the weather improves.
