Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/27/2004

Number: 1

On May 27th, 2 monarchs were reliably seen at the far
western end of Lake Ontario at Waterdown, Ontario by
Harry Hewick. These two monarchs appeared to be
looking for milkweed plants upon which to oviposit. It
is possible that these two monarchs avoided crossing
Lakes Erie or Ontario by crossing the border in the
Niagara-on-the-Lake to Fort Erie area in the Golden
Horseshoe area. Wonder if they were held up at the
border!!!(Contributed by Donald Davis)
