I spent 4 days surveying for bog butterflies in Michigan's Upper Peninsula from the Straits of Mackinac as far north as Seney and Marquette and West to Crystal Falls and Iron Mountain. I saw ONE Monarch in the rest area along US-2 one mile east of the northernmost point of Lake Michigan. I did not see any other Monarchs in the Upper Peninsula on that trip. rk
