Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/06/2004

Number: 1

Spotted the first monarch on June 6 in St John, ND, which is seven miles
northwest of Rolla and very close to the Canadian border. It was very fresh
looking and must have hatched in South Dakota or Nebraska. We have had a
very cold, wet spring following a dry March and April. The milkweed is just
emerging and we are about a month behind with plants and foliage.
