Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/09/2004

Number: 1

The first Monarch seen was at Thunder Cape (location
of a bird observatory) June 9, they saw one or two
daily after that. I personally haven't seen a Monarch yet, and there are
no eggs yet on the milkweed plants in my yard.

Numbers are down from previous years and June 9 is
late, reflecting the cool inclement we have been
having.

Thunder Cape Bird Observatory is located at the
southern tip of the Sibley Peninsula, at the foot of
the Sleeping Giant. The location is visible from the
city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, on the Western edge of
Lake Superior. The bay separating the Giant from the
City of Thunder Bay is also called Thunder Bay.
