We are a fairly new elementary school that borders a wooded area. However, our campus was completely cleared when the school was built. We have since started the task of restoring the property. With the students and staff, we have planted over 300 trees indigenous to Michigan, (40 species, a butterfly garden in the shape of a butterfly, a pond, and a native wildflower garden. We also have nesting boxes for bluebirds. Last fall we tagged over 100 monarchs that students helped raise.
