-an update on monarch activity at our garden, here in Madison, Wisconsin. A total of 10 healthy monarchs eclosed and were released in July. We now have 7 monarch chrysalis, about a week from maturation. Also, we have n=5 2nd instar cats, n=2 3rd instar cats, and n=1 4th instar cat. I saw a female visiting our yard today, and so I suspect that there may be a few monarch eggs; I will look for them tomorrow.
