Just saw my first monarch this fall up on the hillside garden!!!!! It could be either a migrant from the north or from the local population, but it is probably a local...saw a first instar two days ago in the Sweet Briar College field on Asclepias syriaca (Common milkweed). 5:30PM...... 27 August, Cat Rock Mountain, 1500 feet.
